Subject phase management

In a clinical trial, subject phase is a specific stage that a subject needs to complete in the course of a study to move further to the next phase, for instance, Screening, Enrolled, Randomized, and others.

In eClinical, subject phases for a study are configured via the Study Designer (SD) application and cannot be changed in EDC. Nevertheless, there are some available activities you can perform to manage your subject phases in EDC:

Set the phases that allow for subject discontinuation
Set the phases that require phase change date specification
View visits related to a phase
Add a subject phase property
Edit a subject phase property
Activate/Inactivate a subject phase property
Delete a subject phase property
Manage subject phase capping at the study and site levels
