Enter data into simple forms

EDC is your clinical database for recording subject data collected in your study. You must enter the subject data into the respective forms by yourself using EDC.

In simple forms, you only have to enter the data once.

To enter simple form data
  1. In the EDC application header, select the DATA ENTRY tab.

  2. On the site list page that opens, select the tile representing the site with which you want to work.

  3. In the Subject ID column, select the ID of a subject to open their visit overview.

  4. In the subject visit tree of the page that opens, expand the needed visit to select the required form.

  5. On the page that appears, from the explorer tree pane, select the required form.

  6. In the contents panel, the form opens. Use your source documents to fill in the data. Select Submit Submit_Form_Icon.png or refer to the following table for more information on the available form controls.

    Select Details_Option.png to hide the left panel.

    Submit

    Select Submit_Form_Icon.png to submit your entry to the database. Once submitted, the action cannot be undone.

    Draft

    Select Save_Form_As_Draft_Icon.png to save your entry as a draft. You will have to enter the rest of the data later.

    Inactivate

    Select Inactivate_Icon.png to inactivate the entire form.

    Restore

    Select Restore_Icon.png to clear all data entered into the form and return the form to its initial state.

    If selected, in the Confirm dialog that opens, select Yes to proceed with the data deletion or select No to cancel the data deletion.

    Select Print_icon.png to preview and print the content of the form in PDF format.

    From this panel, next to each field of the form, there are several additional options you can perform.

    Open Query

    Select Open_Query_Icon.png to create a query if you find inaccurate or missing form data.

    Audit Trail

    Select burger_menu_gray.jpg to view the history of actions made to the form field.

    Change History

    Select arrow_clock_history_gray.jpg to view the history of changes made to the form field.

    Tip

    Some forms may have reference items. These items are marked with Reference_Icon.png.

    In this case, select the icon, and in the Reference Item dialog that opens, provide the subject data.

  7. Once your data is entered and submitted, the page view updates.

Once the form details have been completed properly, proceed with other forms in a similar manner reproducing steps 1-6.
