Activate/Inactivate site

In IWRS, your site must be active to perform various study activities—request and receive shipments, provide subjects with items (drugs) that are part of the subjects' treatment, and so on. If you need to temporarily disable any site for such activities, inactivate it.

To activate or inactivate a site

  1. In the IWRS application header, select the SITE tab.

  2. In the Site List table that appears, locate the site of your interest and in the Actions column next to it, select one of the following options:

    • Activate activate_icon.png: to enable the site for activities such as requesting and otherwise managing shipments. Also, the newly added site has to be activated to request the initial shipment.

      Important

      To activate the newly added site, the following preconditions have to be met:

    • Inactivate inactivate_icon.png: to disable the site for activities such as requesting and otherwise managing shipments.

Upon selecting, the site is activated or inactivated. You can now manage site details or request the initial shipment for your active sites.

In this section:

In a clinical trial, a location where the subject treatment and drug dispensation occur. It can be a hospital, a private laboratory, or other institutions.

In eClinical, an action of transporting items (drugs) between depots and sites. Also, an instance that represents a bundle of items being shipped together as one batch with the same shipment number (identifier) and status.

In eClinical, a unit of a drug that is being tested in a clinical trial is referred to as an item.

Medical care given to a subject to mitigate or cure an illness, injury, or reduced health status. In a clinical trial, treatment may include prescribed drugs, biologics, devices, physical or psychotherapies, and such other procedures.
