View/Update coding batch status
In the BATCH tab of the Medical Coding module, you can efficiently track and control the progress of your coding batches throughout the medical coding process. This capability is essential for ensuring that each batch is properly categorized and managed according to its current phase.
By viewing and updating the status of your coding batches, you can reflect their current state, which provides insights into the overall workflow and aids in decision-making.

In the Medical Coding application header, select the BATCH tab.

In the Batch List table that appears, depending on your business needs, perform one of the actions as follows.

Go to the coding batch whose status you want to view.

In the Status column, review the current status of the batch to understand where the batch is in the coding workflow. The available statuses are depicted in the following table.

Initial
The batch has been created, but coding has not yet begun. This is the default status for newly created batches.
Cancelled
The batch has been discontinued and will not proceed further in the coding process. This can occur if the batch is deemed unnecessary or if there are issues that prevent it from being completed.
Closed
The coding process for the batch is complete, and the results have been finalized.

Go to the coding batch whose status you want to update.

In the Status column, expand the list and select the appropriate status from the available options, depending on the current stage of the coding batch. The possible changes are described in the following table.

Initial > Cancelled
If the batch is no longer needed and coding will not proceed.
After selecting this option, in the Reason dialog, specify the reason for cancelation, and then select
to
confirm and apply your changes.Once the batch is cancelled, all previously available options—Upload, Coding Result, and Export—become unavailable. However, a new option, Delete, becomes available, allowing you to remove the canceled batch from the system completely.
Initial > Closed
If the coding process has been completed and the batch is ready to be finalized.

If the canceled batch needs to be reactivated and coding should resume.
After selecting this option, in the Reason dialog, specify the reason for resuming, and then select
to
apply your changes.Once reactivated, all the previously unavailable options—Upload, Coding Result, and Export—become available again, while the Delete option disappears.

Once the coding batch status is reviewed or updated, the batch either retains its current state (if only viewed) or transitions to the appropriate phase in the workflow (if updated). This ensures that the status accurately reflects the coding progress for the batch.
