Add synonyms to synonym list
The synonym lists you create in the CODING application are always blank initially. To make them functional and use them when coding verbatim terms (VTs), you need to add synonyms.
In the CODING application, there are two ways to add synonyms to a synonym list:

In the Coding Admin module, through the use of a template file.

In the Medical Coding module, by registering synonyms during the coding process.
In this section, we will cover how to add synonyms in the Coding Admin module via a template file.

Prepare the template file: ensure that the structure of the file containing synonyms complies with the format required by the CODING application. This can be achieved by doing one of the following:

Export any random synonym list (download it to your computer as an Excel file), clear its existing data, and fill it in with new data.

Download a synonym list template and fill it in with the necessary data.

Import the filled-in template: once the template file is prepared with the new synonyms, import it into the CODING system in the corresponding list using the Import feature.
Once the synonyms are added, the synonym list becomes populated with the new terms. This ensures that the list is ready for use in the CODING system, allowing for accurate and efficient medical coding in a study.
