Destroy single/multiple items at depot
Item destruction refers to the process of disposing of or destroying an investigational product or other unused medication when they are no longer needed, damaged, or for another reason.
In IWRS, the depots that have been marked as a return can destroy items that are marked as ready for destruction one by one or in bulk.
Important
To enable this functionality, turn off the Enable Destruction Batch toggle on the Study Information page.
By destroying an item from the Destruction page of IWRS, you reflect the actual physical disposal action taken toward the drug at a certain depot. This helps to keep the database up-to-date for tracking and compliance reasons.

In the IWRS application header, select the DEPOT tab.

In the Depot List table that opens, select the needed depot.

On the page that opens, in the left pane, select Destruction.

In the Ready for Destruction table that appears, select the checkboxes next to the items that you want to destroy, and from the workspace toolbar, select Destroy
.

In the Destroy dialog, confirm your action by providing the details as explained in the following table.
Important
The details you need to provide for action confirmation depend on the authentication method configured for you in the system—via SSO or via providing your login and password.

For security, the system logs you out after three failed attempts to confirm your identity with a password or code.
Upon confirmation, the items are destroyed. You can view the list of the destroyed items for your depot. If needed, you can also cancel item destruction.
