CRF interconnection options

In EDC, there are various options to enhance your data collection process. One such capability is to link the case report forms (CRFs) to the related data and make it possible to access study data directly from the form you need, simplifying your daily routine.

There are the following options to interconnect your CRFs in EDC:

  • Populated forms: connect the baseline and other forms to autopopulate some repeated data—such as subject demographics details or else—between them saving you time retrieving and reentering the same information for each form and eliminating risks of human error upon data entry.

  • Related forms (referenced items): provide the connection between the forms that have associated details, such as concomitant medication (CM) and adverse events (AE) forms, to be able to populate a specific AE for which the CM was taken, thus, giving a clear relation of the drug and indication. This aids in the transparency and precision of further data analysis and AE assessment.

Important

The configuration of all form interconnections is performed in Study Designer (SD). To learn more, refer to the Populate form settings, Edit related form settings, and Add reference item to question sections.
