Analyze user engagement report for eCOA and eDiary
In EDC, you can access the engagement report to analyze the statistics of data collection via the eCOA and eDiary mobile applications. This report provides a visual and structured analysis of how users are interacting with the apps, if there are those neglecting filling forms, and so on. These statistics help you understand the efficiency of app usage and see the potential risk areas, addressing the issues in a timely manner and preventing noncompliance.
Tip
The data you see in the report depends on the site access permission provided to you via the ADMIN app.

In the EDC application header, select the REPORTS tab.

From the left pane of the page that opens, select eCOA and eDiary Report > User Engagement Report.

On the User Engagement Report page, from the dropdown menu, select the app for which you want to view the statistics—eCOA or eDiary.

Now select the needed report view—chart or table—and analyze the statistics as follows.

From the workspace toolbar, select Charts
.

In the Overall User Engagement block, analyze the details as explained in the following table.

Element
Details
Total Registered Users
Represents the total number of unique user accounts registered in eCOA or eDiary (based on the selected app) for the sites of the study the sites to which you have access.
Average time to complete
Represents the mean number of minutes it takes a user to fill out a single form through the mobile app—eCOA or eDiary. It is calculated as an average number of all the periods from the moment the form is first opened to its submission.
The data is calculated by subjects at the study sites to which you have access.

In the User Engagement by site and country block, sort and analyze the chart data as explained in the following table.

Country/Site
From the dropdown menu, select the value as follows:

Country: to review the user engagement statistics by the countries to which you have access.

Site: to review the user engagement statistics by all or selective sites involved in the study and to which you have access. You can choose the sites for statistics representation via the Site checkbox.
Site
Select the checkboxes next to the sites whose user engagement statistics you want to display on the charts. If cleared, the site statistics is not shown.
This option is only available if you select to view the missing data by site.User Engagement Rate
Represents the bar chart, where each bar depicts the percentage of active users (with at least one operation performed via the app) out of the total number of registered users at the sites to which you have access.
Hovering over any bar opens the detailed statistics of user engagement rate and various app events—submitted forms, answered queries, or else.

The data is displayed by country or site based on your selection in the Country/Site dropdown menu.Days/Month
From the dropdown menu, select the value as follows:

Days: to depict the Time-to-completion form trends (minutes) chart data by day.

Month: to depict the Time-to-completion form trends (minutes) chart data by month.
From/To
Select the start and end dates of the period for which you want to display the statistics on the Time-to-completion form trends (minutes) chart.
Time-to-completion form trends (minutes)
Represents the line chart, where the form completion statistics in different countries or sites to which you have access are depicted by a curve. Each point of the curve shows the average time spent on form completion at different dates, thus, helping you understand trends over time. These statistics can be used, for instance, to see if CRF completion becomes more complicated and takes more time as study progresses.

The data is displayed by country or site based on your selection in the Country/Site dropdown menu. -

From the workspace toolbar, select Table

In the resulting report, analyze the data as explained in the following table.

Column
Details
Country
Represents the name of the country for which the statistics are given for the user engagement with eCOA or eDiary (based on the selected app).
Site Code
Represents the unique identifier of the site for which the statistics are given for the user engagement with eCOA or eDiary (based on the selected app).
User
Represents the system user name whose account statistics are given.
Event Timestamp
Represents the exact date, time, and time zone indicator when the interaction with the mobile app has occurred.
Event Type
Represents which kind of interaction with the mobile app has occurred—form submission or else.
Event Details
Represents the descriptive explanation of the interaction with the mobile app that has occurred, such as "User [name] submitted the form."

Once you have analyzed the user engagement report, you can also export the report for offline access if needed.
