Managing site shipments

Under the Shipment subtab, you can view and manage all the shipments of a site. Here, the applicant and supplier sites have different roles to play in the process of shipment processing as follows:

  • The supply site sends the shipment to the applicant sites. Thus, the supplier's options are related to shipping items and confirming or revoking their sending. To manage shipments from the supplier's side, you need to open the shipment details from the depot that has to deliver the requested items.

    Important

    In IWRS, for the site to be entitled to send items as a supplier, you need to enable site-to-site shipments.

  • The applicant site requests shipments from depots of other sites and then receives them. Thus, their options are related to obtaining the items or reporting their loss. To manage shipments from the applicant's side, you need to open the shipment details from the depot that has requested the items.

In eClinical, an action of transporting items (drugs) between depots and sites. Also, an instance that represents a bundle of items being shipped together as one batch with the same shipment number (identifier) and status.

In a clinical trial, a location where the subject treatment and drug dispensation occur. It can be a hospital, a private laboratory, or other institutions.

In eClinical, a unit of a drug that is being tested in a clinical trial is referred to as an item.
