Activate/Inactivate item disposition

When you manually create a new item disposition, make sure it is in the Active state in order for the item disposition to be further used throughout the supplying and dispensing functionalities of IWRS. In case the created item disposition is inactive, you cannot use its data anywhere across IWRS, as this data is visible only within the TREATMENT DESIGN tab > Item Disposition subtab.

Important

You cannot inactivate the item dispositions of the System Default type, they are active at all times.

Nevertheless, you can activate or inactivate the item dispositions of the Manually Created type at any time during the subject randomization configuration.

To activate or inactivate an item disposition

  1. In the IWRS application header, select the TREATMENT DESIGN tab.

  2. In the left pane, select the Item Disposition subtab.

  3. In the Item Disposition table that appears, locate the item disposition you need.

  4. In the Actions column, next to the needed item disposition, select Activate activate_icon.png or Inactivate pause.png.

Once you have applied the needed action, the item disposition is activated or inactivated, depending on the performed action. You can also delete item dispositions.

In IWRS, an item disposition is the status of an item (drug) that represents its current state. For instance, Available, In Transit, Quarantined, and so on.

In eClinical, a process of the item (drug) supply from depot to site or between sites. Even though the sites can return drugs to the depot, this process cannot be treated as a supply relationship.

In eClinical, a process of providing a subject with medication at a visit to a site during their treatment in the course of a clinical trial.
