Synonym management

The SYNONYM tab is designed to manage the synonym lists and obtain synonym approvals, which are critical components of the coding process in clinical studies. Effective synonym management ensures consistency and accuracy in the coding of medical terms, which is essential for maintaining data quality and compliance with regulatory standards. Properly managed synonyms facilitate efficient data interpretation, minimize discrepancies, and support the integrity of the study's findings.

The SYNONYM tab is divided into two subtabs—Synonym List and Synonym Approval—representing the following functionalities:

  • Synonym List: here, administrators can manage synonym lists used in the study.

  • Synonym Approval: here, administrators can manage synonyms pending approval.
