Export translation texts

The Translation functionality of EDC is designed to support multilingual studies that require data collection and review in different languages based on locations, participating audience, and other factors.

The complete list of translation texts—CRF data, query and comment texts, and so on—available in EDC can be extracted as a ZIP archive to your computer for offline review, sharing with stakeholders or translation vendors, or other business purposes.

To export the translation texts
  1. In the EDC application header, select the STUDY INFO tab.

  2. On the page that opens, in the left pane, select Translation > Translation Review.

  3. On the page that opens, from the workspace toolbar, select Export export_icon.png. Then choose one of the following:

    • Export my translated texts: to export a ZIP archive that only contains files with translation texts to which you are assigned as a reviewer.

    • Export all translated texts: to export a ZIP archive that contains files with all the languages and translation texts for the entire study.

  5. In the My Downloads dialog that opens, you can find the following tabs:

    • Preparing: lists all the files whose export is in progress, and they are not yet ready for download. Wait until the needed file moves to the Download is Ready tab.

    • Download is Ready: lists the files whose export is complete, and they can be downloaded to your computer by selecting download_icon.png.

Once downloaded and saved, the translation text data in the ZIP format becomes available on your computer. Once unzipped, you will have an individual folder for each translation language available for your study with XLSX files within for CRF data, manual query, query reply, and comment translation texts.
