Run report script manually

Script-generated reports are configured to extract data from eTMF files and provide a convenient table-view data representation in CTMS. The data extraction is performed according to your configurations from the respective uploaded R script, hence the name—script-generated reports. This functionality might become useful for sponsors who use an external EDC system and want to extract the data from there and review it via eClinical CTMS.

Once the report is configured, you can always run the script manually to retrieve the data and have the latest version of the report.

One of the examples can be if on the eTMF side, the event setting has not been configured for the folder and the source files are already uploaded. The R script in CTMS is not triggered since the file upload occurred before setting the event. Once you configure the event setting, instead of having to reupload files, you run the script manually from CTMS, and the data is retrieved.

Another example is when the event setting is configured in eTMF and the R script is triggered upon file upload. But you want to update the R script and get the latest output version. So instead of reuploading files, you run the updated script manually.
