Delete product unit

You can delete the product units that are no longer needed. However, you cannot delete a product unit if it has ever been released to the depot or site.

To delete a product unit

  1. In the IWRS application header, select the TREATMENT DESIGN tab.

  2. In the left pane, select the Item Unit subtab.

  3. In the Product Unit tab that opens, go to the product unit that you want to remove and select Delete delete_trash_02 next to it.

  4. In the confirmation dialog that appears, select delete_button_white_red.png to proceed with the deletion.

    Important

    You cannot delete a product unit if it has ever been released to the depot or site. In such a case, a similar error message is displayed upon trying to delete the product unit:

Once confirmed, your product unit has now been deleted.

In this section:

An investigational product that is used in a study. In eClinical, it can be viewed as an equivalent to a drug name to distinguish items at all stages of their lifecycle—manufacturing, shipment, dispensation to subjects, or else.

Another name for the product unit in the IWRS system is item unit.

A warehouse that is used to store and distribute items (drugs) to another destination (other depots or sites).

In a clinical trial, a location where the subject treatment and drug dispensation occur. It can be a hospital, a private laboratory, or other institutions.
